November 12, 2014 WHITTIER,
CA Southern California Material Handling (SCMH)
hosted its first workshop titled Effective
Credit and Collection Strategies. In partnership with the Creditors
Adjustment Bureau (CAB), SCMH organized the event to share with customers and
business partners, insights and techniques from speaker Neal Gold who touched
on developing business relationships,
creating effective policies, essential negotiation skills, reducing bad debt
& credit risks, chargebacks & unauthorized deductions, and even
covered bankruptcy basics.
Controller
Cindy Bautista opened the event to customer counterparts in finance, given the
challenging economic environment that all businesses undergo. “Very much like
our customers, we aim to provide excellent service all the way to the very end
of the business cycle—collecting payment. With the help of CAB, not only did we
learn of new techniques but were also able to exchange insights, experiences,
and strategies.”
Among
the outtake of participants from the well-attended morning was having gained a
better perspective on cash-flow management in a tough market.
Neal Gold takes the
group through an understanding of what motivates slow-paying customers.
